“Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Resources for Organic Professionals” – Final Report

Organic Farmers Association (OFA), the National Organic Coalition (NOC), the Accredited Certifiers Association (ACA), the International Organic Inspectors Association (IOIA), and IFOAM - North America (IFOAM-NA) recognize that the organic community needs some basic training on diversity, equity, and inclusion for certifiers, inspectors, technical assistance providers, farmers, and staff at organic educational organizations. We also need to support each other in making progress in our efforts to tackle systemic racism in our organizations and in the broader organic community.

With funding from the National Organic Program (NOP) - Human Capital Capacity Building Initiative and support from Racial Equity consultants (Cambium Collective), the collaborative conducted a project for organic professionals to have an increased understanding of institutionalized racism in U.S. agriculture, and start conversations on breaking down barriers to participation in organic certification and organic career pathways.

Lessons learned, tools, and recommendations for organic professionals, organic organizations, and the organic program are gathered into this final project report
