Support Organic Advocacy in Your Year-End Giving
Over the past year, NOC and organic allies have made tremendous progress in supporting organic growth
and protecting organic integrity, including:
The passage of new rules that are essential to the survival of organic family farms, including passage of the Origin of Livestock rule in final form.
Securing a historic $300 million investment in organic transition and organic market development, through the USDA’s new Organic Transition Initiative.
Obtaining a $2 million increase in funding for the National Organic Program, the USDA program
responsible for enforcing the USDA organic standards.
By 2030, 400 million acres of farmland will change hands. This, coupled with the growing consumer desire for organic products, is a huge opportunity to support the next generation of farmers to enter organic farming. NOC and allies are advocating to give this next generation of organic farmers access to mentorship, technical assistance, markets, and the ability to secure the land and capital needed to start farming. Importantly, we need to ensure these opportunities are accessible to all farmers, especially historically underserved producers. And we need to ensure that the organic regulations are strong and adequately enforced so organic family farms can survive and thrive.
Will you support NOC in advocating for organic agriculture with an end of year contribution?
In 2023, NOC will push for:
Robust support for organic farmers through Farm Bill Provisions,
Equitable distribution of resources through USDA’s Organic Transition Initiative, and
Strong and enforceable organic standards to keep the organic label strong.
